This book is written for those Brave Soul considering leading a Short-Term Mission (STM) trip. Whether the reader plans to lead a team from their church, an NGO, a mission agency, or other institution, Flexibility and Preparation are crucial!
A "poorly-run" STM trip will discourage folks from repeating such endeavors. A "well-run" STM trip will promote repeated participation in future trips, as well also encourage others to join future teams. This book will deal with a host of important logistical issues topics that can make or break the STM experience for you team.
This book begins with five brief chapters dealing with the "Why" for even doing a STM trip, let alone leading one. It discusses the philosophy and benefits of such trips. These chapters serve as a "reality check" for why someone is considering running such a team.
The next twenty chapters walk through a series of important issues to address Before, During and After the trip. A well-run trip involves a lot more than just going and doing something. How your team deals with the local people and each other is important. Following up with your team members can open doors of opportunity not previously considered
