About This Book
Widowed by alcoholism, Annie Parker shows up once again for the spouses and families of alcoholics. Keeping cadence with her first two titles, Annie's raw, unfiltered voice doesn't hold back as she shares more hard truths about being the safe parent in an alcohoic marriage. The spouses of alcoholics and their children are the direct victims of the disease, but there isn't much understanding or support for us. Knowing the great amount of people who are suffering from substance abuse in our country (and the world), it's important to think about what's happening to their families, as a systemic problem. If we, the safe parents, don’t save our children, we will never break the generational cycles of addiction and dysfunction. My book, "Above ALL ELSE", shares my experiences and "hot topics" in the alcoholism world, such as codependency, boundaries, resentment, and sex/intimacy. These are not new topics, but they are important, and my approach is different.
