Riverside Hospital: Repercussions of evils

Carl Erikson, a drug addict in desperate need of a sanctuary, breaks into the Riverside Hospital, a psychiatric institution—with an ax; is not surprisingly admitted, and after confessing to a series of murders, all is good: Erikson faces no imminent risk of discharge, families and friends of those presumed murdered get closure, and courts and prosecutors receive nothing but praise. But the peace doesn´t last: Erikson retracts his confessions, the convictions are challenged—and with eight convictions for murder under scrutiny, the judiciary faces a major scandal. All hell breaks loose, reaching all the way to the top, dragging the Chancellor of Justice and the General Attorney into the fray—and as this goes on, recently healed wounds are once again ripped open with disastrous consequences. In the meantime, while the lawyers grapple with the question of Erikson´s guilt, Dr. Martinson, the head of the Riverside Hospital, struggles to make sense of Erikson's more recent actions, which ultimately seal Erikson's fate.
