The Kehr Family in America began when Christian Kehr stepped off a ship in the Philadelphia harbor on a hot day in August, 1733. This story describes the events that propelled the Kehrs to journey across the ocean from Switzerland to America. It tells the story of Christian Kehr and his family through the first five generations of Kehrs in America. We discover how the Kehrs got from Philadelphia to Indiana 116 years later. The story is recounted through extensive genealogical research and the study of historic events from 1650 -1927
