King of a Far Land

Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and no head in the Kingdom of the East, in the far western reaches of the Hidden Land, is heavier than young Paul's after his unlikely selection as king. War, treason, assassination, giant wolf attacks and capture by cannibals precede the unwelcome event of selection. And then the real trouble starts. Paul becomes an unexpected king and Princess Val a queen of a wild country even further west, all by strange chance. But before the coronation of the main kingdom can occur, Paul and his friends must regain a stolen scepter with magical properties. Desperate adventures in exotic southern cities and across the great sea to the east accompany the search, all in a cause Paul doesn't want to happen. Being king is not always what it's cracked up to be.
