Mkunga Bui Bui Oracle Cosmogram Toolkit

Mkunga Bui Bui Oracle Cosmogram is a self-help toolkit for conscious birthing. It consists of four components: cosmogram board with moveable pieces, narrative book, anthology book, and an instruction manual. The design is inspired by divination systems, game boards, and tarot cards. It is a uniquely crafted box with a top lid. Underneath the lid is the cosmogram board. The lower half of the box has two enclosed shelves. The first shelf has a drawer. Inside the drawer are moveable pieces for the cosmogram board. The second shelf has the narrative book, the anthology book, and the instruction manual. The toolkit is a transdisciplinary address to the long-time persistent high black maternal and infant mortality rates in the United States. The toolkit is a cultural solution for the African American community tangled within a white supremacist socioeconomic infrastructure. Mkunga Bui Bui Oracle Cosmogram is an infusion of numerology, Bantu-Kongo cosmology, and the mkunga's eight legs of intelligence. Mkunga is the Kiswahili word for midwife. Bui Bui is the Kiswahili word for spider. Author, Sankofa Ra, is illuminating an ancient web of alignment for healing and birthing that predates Western civilization. The mkunga bui bui (also known as the black midwife, granny midwife, grand midwife, African midwife) weaves a communal web to unite the wombtress, man, child, and community in the African science of rituals, nature, and spirituality for healthy alignment. The cosmogram board is an illustrative map of a person’s life from birth to death. The cosmogram board has a rectangular shape. It is a picture of life and death representing the eternal cycle of life — bottom half is the spiritual realm where ancestors rest; and the top half is the physical realm where a human being returns to walk a path to fulfill a specific purpose. The narrative book tells the user about the journey that led to the manifestation of the self-help toolkit. The creator’s journey of life experiences and research are provided for context of the product design. The anthology book is a creative storytelling of the mkunga’s knowledge capacity to heal and birth. It is a kaleidoscopic tapestry of eight stories and eight poems. This creative piece is a demonstration of her knowing, being, and doing as a traditional African healer of self and community. The instruction manual provided step-by-step instructions to decode names and birth dates using numerology. The user will learn how to calculate the purpose, life path, seed of purpose, mastery of purpose, legacy of purpose, first pinnacle, first challenge, second pinnacle, second challenge, third pinnacle, third challenge, fourth pinnacle, and fourth challenge.
