About This Book
An ode to summer break by American photographer Grace Ahlbom, Boys and Girls of Summer captures moments from Ahlbom's travels in France and along the East Coast of the United States. Intimate portraits of old friends and new acquaintances linger between fiction and documentary, serving as constructed evidence of encounters along the way. Ahlbom's intention was to create photos that felt like yesterday, yet not lost forever. With this collection she juxtaposes images of adolescence and youth culture against still lifes and cropped statuary.
