About This Book
One of the drawbacks in human life is the inability of one person, in one body, to have all of the experiences that are available and instructive in one lifetime. Happily, there is a solution: the short story. In a few pages a reader can share incidents, relationships, disappointments, failures, ironies, moments of clarity and inspiration, without leaving his or her easy chair, couch, or bed pillows.
This book contains stories that offer a sense of reality because they are based on real tales about real people. Many of them describe incidents that occurred in the life of the author, or in the lives of persons known to the author. They entertain, provoke, and often sit in the back of the mind for years to come. If they lead to a new appreciation for human compassion, a sense of a Divine power over all things, a dislike of inhumanity, and an urge to promote love and acceptance of all creatures on earth, then all is well. And, all the Gypsy's, Sunshines, Sunlites and Ponchos on earth may find good homes sooner rather than later.
