About This Book
The Love of Jesus educates young readers of all ages in the foundation of the Lord's message, guiding them to read Scripture within the framework of the story of Jesus. It presents simple gospel texts with illustrations, rooted in the Church’s history of art, followed by questions and prayers that invite creative involvement while strengthening Bible reading comprehension. Students may discuss, write, draw, dramatize or engage with others to express an understanding of gospel truth.
How the stories are presented.
The book contains 30 gospel stories with (2) illustrations, (3) questions, (4) prayers, (5) scripture references, (6) write and color spaces, (7) further scriptural reading for advanced readers, (8) and a section on how to use the book with adaptable language arts strategies and Bible reading readiness methods.
The stories are divided into six units, (Jesus' Birth, Miracles of Jesus, Jesus' Healings, Jesus Loves People, Sayings of Jesus and The Risen Jesus), and offer the flexibility for independent use or as a 36 week course. The lessons are self-contained in the book and can be expanded from five minutes to an hour, depending on the length and number of strategies implemented with no additional materials or prep time required.
