About This Book
Volume one is historical fiction following five ancestors who fought in the eastern theater of the American Civil War. They represented both the Union and the Confederacy and fought in all major battles of the eastern theatre of the war from 1861 until the surrender at Appomattox in 1865. The story is an intertwining of their lives and the lives of their families during this formative part of their lives. Volume two follows ancestors who represented both the north and the south in the western theatre of the war. The story is based on their historical records of service combined with the records of the battles. Four of the characters played key roles at Sharpsburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg.
