About This Book
Let’s Talk is a mentoring program that offers motivational workshops for student populations. The classes offered through this mentoring program benefit students by helping them to understand where they are in life and taking the limits off of where they can go. Students will hear from individuals that have lived in similar situations and have been able to turn those situations around. This is an opportunity for students to see just how special they are and how much potential they possess and with a little belief they will take the necessary steps to reach their goals.
As an open forum, Let’s Talk enables students to speak candidly outside of the scope of a traditional classroom and in a relaxed environment. They can express their concerns about school and about the present and upcoming hardships they feel they may face without judgment. In return they will receive strategies and tools that will be useful in their preparation for college and/or the workplace and the development of life skills that will promote future success.
The program goals are to promote life skills, respect for self and the community, improve and maintain positive peer/adult relationships, promote healthy lifestyles through better eating habits, and to create a sense of purpose.
