About This Book
This book of Professor Asdrúbal Aguiar,, The Courtyard of the Gentiles, María Corina Machado and the Oslo Dilemma, brings together very short essays that, in light of his daily reflections before, during, and after Oslo, when Machado received the Nobel Peace Prize, he has written to outline ideas about Venezuela, to better understand it in its volatile current course, and thus to help those who generously read him to understand it as well. They are a simple guide or marginal notes, perhaps a positive warning voice, probably useful for the still desolate and volatile path being traveled toward the promised land of freedom that Venezuelans must reach soon. The optimism of the will must accompany us. The two commitments stemming from the popular mandates entrusted to María Corina Machado in 2023 (“I assume the commitment to uphold this mandate… the reconstruction of our nation”) and to Edmundo González Urrutia in 2024 (“Let's all vote for our future…” and “to ensure political change in Venezuela”) are the astrolabes for the proper interpretation of the concrete actions that both are undertaking to this end.
