About This Book
This book is a compilation of all the studies of Professor Allan R. Brewer-Carías, referred to Panamanian law, or than have been published in Panamá or that are the text of Lectures given in Panamá, written during the last decades. On matters of Constitutional Law, are included those referred to the Panamanian system of Judicial Review in Comparative Law; to the challenges of Constitutional Justice in Latin America; to the deconstitutionalization of the Rule of Law in Venezuela; to the Constitutional Jurisdiction as a guarantee of the Rule of Law; to the intangibility of f the Constitutional Courts judgments and their exceptions; and to the Constituent Processes in Latin America: with regard to the projected Panamanian constituent process. In the area of Administrative Law, are included those referring to judicial control of administrative discretion; to normative administrative acts as a source of law, with special reference to Executive Regulations; to the Contentious Administrative Jurisdiction in Panama and Venezuela; and to the procedural aspects of the contentious-administrative process with special reference to precautionary measures in both countries. And regarding human rights, the book includes a work on the right to the free exercise of the legal profession and judicial independence. The Book concludes with an Appendix, with the text of the amicus curiae presented by the Inter-American Bar Association before the Interamerican Court of Human Rights on the defense of the free exercise of the law profession and judicial independence.
