About This Book
This book of Professor Allan R. BREWER-CARÍAS, is dedicated to the analysis oall the circumstances of the process leading to the Venezuelan presidential election scheduled for July 28, 2024, which are conditioned by various fundamental political events that have occurred in the country, such as the situation of total destruction of the State, of its democratic institutions, and of the country as a whole, after 25 years of authoritarianism; the unconstitutional disqualification of the main opposition candidate, María Corina Machado; the attempt to suspend the opposition's primary elections, and the general absence of basic conditions for the election to be considered free, fair, plural, transparent and verifiable; all of which places the country, in 2024, in the framework of a new constituent moment in its history, which democratic leadership has the challenge of identifying and assuming in order to recover democracy and the rule of law.
