About This Book
This book by Professor Allan R. Brewer-Carías, collects all his studies on the regime of territorial planning (land use) and urban planning of private property, which have been published during previous years, and which now appear systematized, ordered in the following parts:
Part One: on private property and territorial planning with the following studies: first: General Introduction to the Legal Regime of Territorial Planning, published in 1984; second: Private property and the regime of National Parks in Venezuela, published in 2000; third, the particular regime for the management of El Ávila National Park and the use of private property located therein, published in 2000; and fourth: the legal regime for the transfer of industries, published in 1981.
Part Two, on urban planning and private property, which is the text of the book presented by the author for his incorporation as a Member of the Venezuelan National Academy of Political and Social Sciences in 1978, and published in 1980.
Part Three: on private property and urban planning, which includes the following studies: first: Urbanism and private property, which was the text of the Speech on Incorporation into the Academy of Political and Social Sciences, published in 1978; and second: The regime of urban planning of private property in the Organic Law of Urban Planning, published in 1988.
And Part Fourth: on the attempts to reform the legal regime of territorial planning and urban planning, which is configured with the study on administrative limitations to property for reasons of territorial planning and urban planning in Venezuela, and the one related to the curious case of a sanctioned law that never entered into force, published in 2008.
