These book of Profesor Allan R. Brewer-Carías, are his constitutional chronicles written about the situation of the false government that was formed in Venezuela between May 2011, when it became known of the serious illness that afflicted President Hugo Chávez Frías, until March 2013 when his death was announced; during which, in addition to having been re-elected President, he had to undergo prolonged medical treatments in a hospital in La Havana, where he traveled on several occasions in June and July 2011, and in February and March 2012, and finally, from December 8, 2012, when no one else saw him alive in public again.
During the long weeks of his absence from the national territory, the Executive Vice President refused to temporary substitute the absence of the President, and his Ministers made the country believe that Chávez continued to exercise his functions from a hospital bed in Havana, and then from the Military Hospital in Caracas, until his death was announced on March 5, 2013.
At that time, moreover, the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court, in view of his failure of Chávez to appear before the National Assembly on January 10, 2013 for the act of his swearing-in as President, decreed the "administrative continuity" of his government, as if he effectively continued to govern the country from abroad.
Those were months of deception and manipulation of the Constitution in which the events that are commented on in this book took place.
After a decade has passed, these Chronicles are now published, as a contribution to the effort to preserve the historical memory in the country about the process of institutional destruction to which it has been subjected. with the constitutional analyses necessary for a full understanding of what really happened in Venezuela between 2011 and 2013, with the establishment of the bizarre and false government that was imposed on Venezuelans, supposedly commanded by a President bedridden in a hospital in Havana.
