About This Book
Melanin Moments Poetry tell the stories of my Melanated community. These stories are meant to describe the life experiences many of us share. Each story aligns with a specific topic; Community, Self, and Love. These topics are widely discussed amongst family, friends, acquaintances, and colleagues. These discussions are controversial and uncomfortable, but we must have these conversations because they directly affect us. My poems spark these tough conversations that some try to ignore, but now it’s time to start the conversation and talk about our Melanin Moments.
