The volume addresses, with a broad comparative perspective, the study of the constitutional systems of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Baltic and Balkan. Starting from an indispensable political historical framework, the most recent constitutional dynamics are carefully analyzed, focusing in particular on the path after the collapse of socialist regimes. The number of countries is high, which demonstrates the complexity of this area of Europe also from the point of view of state-building phenomena. The volume analyzes in detail the constitutional texts, considering the debates in the constituent seat, and focuses in particular on catalogs of rights, forms of government, partisan political systems, territorial decentralization, constitutional justice. In conclusion, an indispensable reflection on the constitutional degenerations in Hungary and Poland integrates the analysis of the constitutional trajectory of the two countries already carried out at various points in the volume.
