About This Book
This book traces the history of the owners and residents of the small mudbrick cottage Cypress Holme situated on location 316 in Dongara, Irwin District, Western Australia. Soon after European settlement of the area in 1851, this location was recognised for its high quality soils and Charlotte Elizabeth Vigors paid £340 or £1 per acre for location 316 in 1858. It produces good yielding cereal and pulse crops to the present day, the original house built in 1903, retains many of its original features.
